Must read Gibbon for background to our problems. Suspect old Eton and the Ivy preps are to breed toughness, overcome the softening of affluence. Now that all have affluence, we are combining, spoiling, parent anxiety, child dominance and total lack of correction, DDSS(drink, drugs, smoking, sex), ennui of lack of adventure, boundaries pushed till they fall, and minimal adult relationships either out of home through disrespect by pc, or in home in front of 24 hour box distractant. Adult pastimes become teenage dreams, all triggering adult habits. Shopping the group religion, making it the target of both sexes, fashion and porn the fun of the lonely.
Not to say these cannot be put right, but it will take national willpower and removal of some of our self-imposed boundaries. Fear is probably the biggest challenge, fear of going out. So young confidence needs tapping and enhancing. A tools list will follow the research.
